Laurens van der Velde stopt met racen in Engeland

Website NationalHotrod.com meldt het volgende:
Racer of the #78 Tigra Laurens van der Velde has announced he will be quitting National Hot Rod racing in England. “I want to let you know that I’m not going to drive in England anymore. I am 54 years of age now and I have decided that this year is going to be my last one. I will only race in Holland this year. But anyway, I want to thank the NHRPA for giving me the opportunity to drive in England – we had a great time in England, but I am getting to old for this…. and I still do have two children who race in Holland as well.  So, many thanks.”

Spedeworth promoter and NHRPA official Deane Wood replied “On behalf of the NHRPA, I would like to thank Laurens for his support of National Hot Rod racing. The #78 team have always been highly professional in their approach and very well presented every time they graced us with their presence in England. They have been a credit to themselves and the formula as a whole and we wish Laurens all the best in his future endeavours and we look forward to seeing back in the UK as a spectator.
